Monitoring water courses

We will monitor our local natural watercourses as part of working to conserve our local environment and preserve water species.

• Every drop of fresh water is precious, but pollution, climate change and over-exploitation have brought our freshwater systems to crisis point
• We need to transform our rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, wetlands and reservoirs into clean, thriving habitats for people and wildlife
• Support for and links to local action groups is available from Earthwatch Europe
• Training courses are available from sources such as the United Nations Environment Programme and the Freshwater Biological Association
