Creating a Community Woodland

We will work with local people to create and run a community wood.

• Trees and woods play an important role in tackling the threats of climate change and nature loss
• Involving the local community in creating new woods or conserving existing woodland helps to guarantee not only their development but also their long-term survival
• Practical advice is available from organisations such as the UK Woodland Trust, and the Community Woodlands Association in Scotland
• Live case studies include Long Lands Common in Yorkshire and Wing Wood Community Woodland in Buckinghamshire, which is being supported by Forestry England
