Aligning Bus and Train Timetables

We will support greater use of public transport by encouraging bus and train companies to work together to ensure their route timetables are connecting, for the benefit of local travellers.

• Greenhouse gas emissions from road transport currently make up around a fifth of the UK’s total emissions, and transport is the largest-emitting single economic sector.
• Many people continue to use their cars to get to work because local buses don’t get them to the nearest railway station in time to catch a train
• The Sustainable Transport Alliance is a partnership of eight transport associations working to connect more sustainable transport options
