Grow your own
- Partition off an area of your lawn to create a vegetable patch where you can grow your own food.
- Window box gardening or vertical gardening (eg. on an outside wall) – can produce an array of foods to supplement your diet.
- Food production results in emissions from transportation and from producing the packaging that it is wrapped in. So growing your own food can dramatically reduce the ‘food miles’ of your meals and impact from plastic and cardboard wrappings.
- Home grown food often tastes much better and is often more nutritious than shop-bought food.
